When : June 29th 2008
Where : Kiev
Being captured had not been in The Black Circle handbook or seminars. Isla was a weak person, which didn't help when the military police of Kiev had taken her prisoner, and beaten her on a near by daily basis. They asked time and time again, in broken english from a semi-translator if anyone would pay a ransom. She'd shaken her head time and time again, which had eventually lead to tears when she had no names to give.
One day the soldiers entered and tossed her around a bit more, before finally letting on that a certain anonymous buyer had interest in her. They'd been told not to touch her as of then, but no one was around to tell, and she didn't know what to think then. She had been huddled into a dark cell for nearly two weeks, at least that was how long she thought it had been. She could never be sure, since there were no windows, and she was only allowed out every other day, but that was only traveling between her cell and a room where they questioned her.
When she was released, she was instead tossed out onto the curb in Kiev in front of the specified location. Her eyes had closed, with no strenght to even lift her body. It was a full two days later that she had reawoken back in New York City - of course she wasn't aware of the fact until hours later.
However, upon awaking, she was being provided with medical care. Her body hooked up to IV's, feeding tubes, and nearly thirty percent of her body covered in bandages and some with a cast. She had a fractured rib and wrist, which had lead to another two weeks of bed rest.
She had managed to slip from bed one day, and read over her chart. She then cleared herself and left, heading for her office to pack her things. It was there, that as she glanced up, she seen Edward.
Her failure heavy on her shoulders, and his last words of warning to her before she had left.
